In the jungle highlands, the soul has thirteen parts. If you lose a part, you get sick. To heal, you must trek to the Severe Objects of Worship that oversee our daily lives from the mountaintop.
I wrote The Soul’s Tale in 2000, then went off to teach at Bennington College. I never thought I’d ever get to hear it. But the marvelous Contemporaneous Ensemble has allowed this piece on their Open Mic reading at Roulette, on March 4, at 7pm (doors 6pm). Get free tickets via eventbrite. Very very excited. Very very grateful.
